Response to Camps Article
I knew most of that tactical information, but I had no idea there were so many soldiers in Stafford during the war. That many people would change the surrounding area for years. Who knows how the area would be different if they'd decided to camp somewhere else. I wonder how much the land their saving would cost right about now. Somebody should turn that camp into a place like Valley Forge. Maybe build a few of the houses up and some informational signs or something.

AJ,
I definitely agree that the land should be set aside for its importance, instead of putting more houses up on it, which blocks out another interesting piece of history.

Guys,
I agree with both of you. The last thing we need in Stafford is more houses. We need this historic site to preserve Stafford.
Matt
Building house over this historical site would cover one of the surprising historical facts of Stafford. By preserving this site, future generations and new residents would also learn more about the great Stafford County!
I believe AJ might have meant that they should build up some informational building, like a welcome center, to tell information about the camp, perhaps adding some time period tents to make some of the area look like it once did.
