This article was very interesting to read. I find it neat that people are becoming less focused on big battles and are now shifting their interests towards soldiers as people. The information about soldiers spending only 8 hours in battle was new to me. The emphasis on soldier's daily lives will help people understand the sacrifices and hardships the soldiers went through. This will not only help personify the Civil War, it will be easy to relate to and understand, having this historic site in our own town. It is very cool that Stafford County played such a significant role during the Civil War. This is a great move for Stafford County, and I will be interested in learning more on this historic site.

The fact that Stafford played a role in housing troops was a big thing. Well in our case, at least. It's nice to know that Stafford was once home to soldiers during the Civil War and not just the boring small town that we think it is. Little ole Virginia is now preserving the land which makes me quite happy. Here's to you, Stafford. For not being as lame then as you are now.
I think that you can say, "Well, Stafford County housed soldiers during the Civil War" and actually say it with pride. Stafford may be boring and all, but we have the American history that other "non-boring" places may not have.
The soldiers in 8 hours of battle was new to me too. I think the emphasis on soldier's daily lives is very important. The historic site will teach Stafford's habitants here how important Stafford was in the Civil War. It is very important to preserve the land and I strongly support it!
I never knew that these camps were so closeby. I think it's amazing how these have gone unnoticied after all of these years and that finally, now, I think they are getting the recognition they deserve.
