I found this web site hard to maneuver through. Though hard to find, there was some great information on the Great Depression. I browsed through the photographs and I was really surprised by their content. Normally, I have imagined the Great Depression as being only dusty and impoverished, but these pictures showed a more personal side to it. I was surprised at the amount of recreational activities the pictures showed as well as how happy some people looked. This positive side of the Great Depression is very new to me. Of course, the pictures that showed the negative side of the Great Depression were hard to look at that. The long Breadlines, unemployment lines, hungry people definitely depicted the hardships of the time. These pictures did a great job in showing the different faces of the Great Depression.

I agree the website was hard to find things, but the photographs did catch my eyes. The pictures really captured how things were like for most Americans during that hard time period. I liked how the picuters showed both sides of the stories and not just the bad side of things.
I liked the photograph sections too. For each picture there was a different story behind it. The pictures showed the hard times of the Great Depression and the artistic creations during the depression. The pictures did allow us to see the different aspects of the Great Depression. There is always two sides to a story and these pictures depicted both.
The photographs definately attrached my attention too. I have always imagined the Great Depression full of poverty and starving families, but the pictures did show a more personal side. It felt like I could see thier emotions through the pictures, which I thought was very cool. Although the pictures did show the sad side, and the side that I have always thought the Depression was full of. But, I do agree that the pictures did a great job of showing the different faces of the Depression.
The site was hard to look through, but once information was found, it became easier. And also, the pictures of the Depression did help me undersatnd what actually occured during that time. The pictures did have a lot of personality in them.
When I came across the "happy" pictures, I almost felt like they were falsified (in a way..I mean..I know they're not). I'm just really accustomed to associating the Great Depression immediately to the impoverished and destitute. You're right--this website does show the "different faces" of the times.
The photographs truly can turn a person's perspective of the Great Depression assuming that only negative things came out of it. I learned that this period spark many creative geniuses in the arts. From an optimistic point of view, good things did come out during this dark period in time
