WWI web site
I really liked this web site. There were a lot of interesting stories and I especially liked the "Did you know?" facts at the bottom of the page. It's amazing: the cost that the allies spent on WWI compared to how much Austria-Hungary spent on the war. It seemed to be a war between Germany and Britain, instead of Serbia and Austrai-Hungary. I also found the story of Private Henry Tandey pretty interesting. It reminds me of an episode of the Twilight Zone, how one person can change the lives of millions. I'm not sure if I believe Tandey was about to shoot Hilter himself but it's something to think about. I feel bad for the animals in WWI, the poor horses dragged into a war that's not even there battle. I think the horses got the worst of the war and should be given more acknowledgment. But anyways I thought the web site was really cool and I give it two thumbs up (sorry but I gotta keep both my feet on the ground).

Anita-I have to say I think you are pretty wrong. I don't think the horses had it the worst in the war. If you look through the timeline, it gives a day to day basis of what happened. Almost everyday, people were being attacked and thousands lost their lives. But I will agree that the "Did you know" facts were pretty sweet.
I'm not sure where I stand on the horses. The horses made it easier for the soldiers. It's true that there isn't any acknowledgemets form the soldiers for the horses. Just because a horse is an animal doesn't mean you can't thank it. People had it bad during the war but people remember them. All of the elements of battle would effect nature. Does anyone remember the wildlife and animals that lost their lives during the war?
